The Women's Resource Center is located in room 3744 of Coleman Hall.
The Women's Resource Center, or WRC, was established by the EIU Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program to provide an informal setting for students, faculty, staff, and community members to gather and discuss all topics related to gender, sexuality, and systems of power and privilege.
The WRC is a library, where books, periodicals, videos, and articles by and about women can be checked out or photocopied. The Women's Resource Center collection can be found by searching LibraryThing.com. It is a research center, where students and scholars can come for help on research projects related to women's issues in a variety of fields.
The WRC is a contact center, where information and referrals to area resource groups and organizations can be obtained (such as physical and substance abuse hot lines, mental health and child care services, pregnancy and sexual assault information, and area support groups.)
The WRC is an awareness center, where anyone can find out about current events and legislation relating to women, job opportunities, calls for papers, scholarships, upcoming conferences, and worldwide educational programs in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
The WRC is a place to get course listings and information about the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Minor.
The WRC is a great place to find out how to get involved in woman-centered activities on campus and in our community. If you would like to be a part of Take Back the Night, the Vagina Monologues, or other activities for women's services, contact the WRC.
The WRC is not just for women! All students, faculty, and community members are welcome to enjoy this peaceful place to study, talk or browse. The center is located in room 3744 of Coleman Hall. The WRC is managed by student workers. For access to the center call (217) 581-5947, email mgworthington@eiu.edu, or pay us a visit!
