Fire Logs

Any institution that maintains on-campus housing facilities must maintain a fire log. The fire log must record any fire that occurred in an on-campus student housing facility. The log must include the nature, date, time, and general location of each fire. Fires must be recorded in the log within two business days.

2024-11-09 03:41:00 University Court- Hampton 810 Roosevelt Avenue Charleston, IL On November 9, 2024, at approximately 0341 AM, an officer was dispatched to University Court-Hampton Building, located at 810 Roosevelt Avenue, in response to a reported emergency. Upon arrival, the Charleston Fire Department (CFD) entered the building. It was determined that the resident of the affected apartment had been cooking with grease in a hot frying pan on the stove. The resident briefly turned away, and when he returned, he discovered the grease had caught fire. The case is now closed.
