EIU Department of Political Science

Undergraduate Research & Leadership in Political Science

All students in the EIU Political Science major gain hands-on research experience through their research methods class and their capstone class. As a result, our students are well trained in written and verbal communications and analysis.

We encourage our majors to apply for awards and research conference opportunities related to their research, and are proud of their achievements!

Junior Courtney Klaers and senior Paige Thing received awards from Booth Library for their research projects.

Seniors Taylor Meritt, Noah Riggs, and Karolina Guzek won Scholars in Undergraduate Research Awards for their senior capstone, while senior Paige Thing received Social Science Writing Award recognition for her senior capstone.

Seniors August Biernbaum, Brianna Hull-Dennis, Karolina Guzek, and Paige Thing were honored as Distinguished Seniors by the EIU Alumni Association.

Senior Ella Collins, along with seniors Cydney Adams and Christine Eldrenkamp, were able to present their Departmental Honors Theses at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research in Long Beach, CA.
