#191.2 - Remote Policy - Short-Term Remote Work

Approved: November 7, 2022

Nomenclature changes: December 1, 2023

Monitor: President

Supervisors may assign employees short-term, or situational, remote work not to exceed four (4) days in a single month in response to a program or departmental need. In unique situations short term remote work may be approved for periods exceeding four (4) consecutive days or four (4) days in a single month by the division vice president in consultation with the president. Supervisor justifications for temporary remote work may include University project-based priorities, critical deadlines, and/or extra-ordinary (non-continuing) situations that warrant short-term remote activities to ensure that everyday campus operations, core organizational functions, and/or other mission critical services are delivered. Individuals without the technology or infrastructure needed to work from a remote location will be unable to engage in remote work.

Employees must submit the employee Remote Work Documentation Form to receive authorization to engage in short-term remote work. These forms are submitted to the supervisor, the respective Vice President, and the President.
